i was lucky, i suppose! to have so many of these giant birds at one site is beyond imaginable. about a meter tall with up to two meters of wingspan. quite solitary and territorial in their day-to-day behavior, but when it comes to mating and raising their little ones, they come together to protect from predators (raccoon, bald eagles, etc.)
the males carry the twigs, the females weave them into the nest. astonishing! by all means. thank you, Roxana
