"every morning"

"Every morning
I shall concern myself anew about the boundary
Between the love-deed-Yes and the power-deed-No
And pressing forward honor reality.
We cannot avoid
Using power,
Cannot escape the compulsion
To afflict the world,
So let us, cautious in diction
And mighty in contradiction,
Love powerfully."

― Martin Buber, Power and Love (1926)

Spring in the city

in-verted
upside-down s/tree/t
an ominous sky gripped
in the barest
arms of a tree

vert-tical cliffs
dust glass steel
three subterranean limbs
webbing in
a piece of heaven?

that, too
is not what it seems
but a palimpsest of spring
in an intro-vert self-
absorbed city

I cross blindfolded

So all speech is to some extend blind."

Bare tree

In the bare limbs of a tree
there is certain irrefutable
[and deceptive] clarity ―
the eye piercing the stark
crisp-clear scenery
supposedly defeating blindness
believing in seizing the s/tree/t view
in its entirety ― free
of the exuberant burst of spring
lush blossoms, birds and bees
the idle chatter of summer leaves
eager butterfly wings
ripeness that swell
bejewelling the branches in gold,
soon to be stripped down
by the first frost, vanish in a blast
of a sudden winter squall, as if
nothing . ever . existed ―
if not for this inseparable
frame-sequence along the blue
string of seasons ―
[incessant ancient love]
by which we live

"How you die out in me:
down to the last
worn-out
knot of breath
you're there, with a
splinter
of life."

― Paul Celan

Impartance

I do not know how to love.
Neither do you.
It is precisely why love
is here. To teach us.

Low ebb

At the low ebb
I traipse the rippled
Ocean ground -
reasons for being this vast
paradox state of [e]motion ―
swelling lashing spilling
peripeteia's leaving
intense elusive pervasive
incessantly persuasive
impermanent
(the one immutable thing)
and bound to return
by a single irresistible pull
of a distant
ever [r]evolving Moon
drawing near

"The essence is never the form."

Half a life away

Proposition for Throwback Thursday :
Half a life ago, left half the globe away
does it still equate to One, and the same?

Wholeness

To retain wholeness amid a world-
wide craze and persistent bewilderment
one shall turn back perhaps, to the archetypal
lessons of yesterday's non presence.
Bow before the bliss of fool-
hardy illusions at the center of being.
Believe in the mystery. Doubt it all.
                                                                                  Recognize,
love could be [in] vain too, if self-serving.
Love anyway. Wholeheartedly.

Dichotomy

"She knew that he loved her above all else, more than anything else in the world, but only
for his own sake." - Love in the time of cholera, Gabriel García Márquez

tattered wings

in the tattered wings
of a coconut tree
the wind rages delirious
chatters like the mad rain
day and night night and day
dry tears of unfathomable pain
one thousand blades
prying off a soul
from a frail man's body

pain pain pain
more than sinew and bone can bear
taut twanging ball of nerves
cutting wrenching tearing
squeezing thirsty cupful
teardrops of blood-
dew to appease tomorrow's dawn

heaven birthing an angel
amid Earth's mourning

but why so violent? oh God, why
s o   v i o l e n t ?

(it was never suppose to be this way)
